Spain aim to top Group A at the U21 EURO
Cristhian Mosquera, César Tárrega, Javi Guerra and Diego López target victory against Italy
Manu Vallejo returned to the starting lineup and scored a goal to boot in the game against Granada, pulling Valencia CF back level after they had conceded from a penalty.
The striker found the net for the second time in LaLiga, with his first goal since last December and a serious injury that had sidelined him for months. He spoke with VCF Media after the game, which ended 2-2.
"It's bittersweet, because we went behind, turned things around and were ahead with very little time remaining. It leaves you with a bittersweet feeling, but I think that we need to draw from the game today; we played seriously, and I don't think that the opposition had many chances. We need to grow from this as a team and we are going to go for every point that remains in play," said the forward, who described his goal in detail.
"In the end, I was lucky that the ball fell to me on the edge of the area. I was fortunate enough to score. I think that Cheryshev created a very good move, and I'm happy because my goal helped the team to get a draw and a boost in morale -which is what we were looking for. We managed to turn the scoreline around with Gonçalo's goal, and I think that from then on we defended well. It was a shame about the free kick, but now we are focused on what is coming up, the points that are still in play, and we are going to go for them all."
"Right now it's very important to change the dynamic. If we do that, then we're sure to grow. We had been taking bad results away from home, and I think that we saw another team today: A compact team, who didn't take the win but who came close. We were much closer to winning than to losing. This game should help us to grow, look at the result and push forward."
